Direct Store Delivery System

A .NET-based delivery and invoice system built and deployed for a local grocery business by a team of undergraduate engineers that I led.

Scenic Foods needed a Direct Store Delivery system to handle deliveries and invoices for its stores. I led a team of undergraduate software engineers through developing and deploying it on .NET, across Tennessee Tech's Software Engineering I & II courses and my internship with the company.

I reconfigured an existing Microsoft SQL database and developed backend functionality in C# using ASP.NET Core.

I managed development with Scrum, running daily standups and weekly project meetings, and communicated regularly with the product owner to gather requirements and make sure the application met end-user needs.

I installed, configured and deployed the application to the client's server over TeamViewer, verified compatibility across store devices, and troubleshot application, database and deployment issues along the way.

Try it

This is the system's real front end running entirely in your browser. The ASP.NET Core and SQL Server backend is replaced by a small stand-in with made-up vendors, products and invoices, so nothing you do here is sent anywhere.

  1. Sign in with the username demo and the admin password 1234.
  2. On the dashboard, choose a vendor or a date range covering the last two weeks and press Filter. Click the arrow on a row for its margins, then Edit or Print.
  3. Press Create Invoice, choose a vendor, type any new invoice number and press Fill.
  4. Click the UPC box and pick one of that vendor's products (in the store this is a barcode scan), press Add Product and enter a count.
  5. Enter a vendor total to see the balance, tap a product to expand it, use the pencil to change its count or cost, then Save.
